Manual espresso, engineered for longevity.
Our coffee machines are built on the farm in Hardy’s workshop, shaped by over forty years of materials engineering experience. They’re made entirely from stainless steel, with no electronics, pumps or plastic components — just simple mechanics designed to last.
We didn’t set out to design a gadget. We wanted something solid. Something that would still be working well years from now.
Using the machine isn’t about pressing a button and stepping away; it’s about participating in the process. You grind your beans properly while the water heats to just off the boil, paying attention to texture and timing. Once the brew unit is prepared and seated, you pour the hot water in, place your cup beneath it, and begin to pull the lever down slowly and steadily.
Over the course of about thirty seconds, you feel the resistance change under your hand as the coffee extracts, and you can watch the crema form as it flows into the cup. If the grind is too coarse, it will move too quickly; if it’s too fine, you’ll feel it immediately. The machine doesn’t hide anything from you. It teaches you to notice.
There’s something satisfying about making espresso this way. You grind your beans properly. You heat the water just off the boil. You feel the resistance as the shot begins to pull. The process asks for attention — and rewards it.
It’s not complicated. It’s simply hands-on.
Hardy has spent decades working with materials. When he designed this machine, simplicity was the goal. Stainless steel throughout. No electronics to fail. No parts that can’t be repaired or replaced.
It’s heavier than most manual machines — intentionally so. It’s not designed to travel in a suitcase. It’s designed to sit on a counter and stay there.
We’ve had experienced baristas test it, and with good beans and a proper grind, it produces rich crema and clean extraction. But more than that, it feels solid in your hands — the way good tools should.
If you find yourself near the farm, you’re welcome to try one. We’re always happy to make a cup and talk through how it works.
